James is an absolute expert and he knows his stuff really well. He combined his creativity and knowledge to give us the exact fireplace I was looking for and couldn’t get anywhere else! Every standard shop said that a black surround and black two piece hearth - is the norm for an open fireplace but I really wanted a light coloured stone and no black at all. James came up with an amazing solution to slightly lift our fire pit to reduce the heat transfer on to the hearth which enabled us to have it as a single piece polished limestone which looks perfect for the home. The polished limestone surround also doesn’t get sooty at all and is very easily cleaned. We’ve now used this fireplace for two years and it’s still good as new. We are so so glad James worked with us to get us something functional and gorgeous! He was also kind enough to retain and fit the original fireplace’s brass piece for us, which meant a lot. James’ knowledge and design skills are next level and we can’t recommend him enough.

James removed a gas stove and fireplace from my living room and replaced it with an electric fire and slate surround. The work was done quickly and to a very high standard. The impact on the room is transformative and James and Tommy are very easy to deal with, friendly, honest and couldn't be more helpful with suggestions about how the finished work should look. I am very, very happy with the work they carried out and the price. Thoroughly recommended.

I contacted Wicklow Fireplaces recently due to an issue with a very outdated gas fireplace. I know very little about fireplaces and James helped me through the entire process. He explained all possible products and options available to me and the various price points.
